Source: Santa Barbara Police Department

The Santa Barbara Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a felony hit and run driver and vehicle.

On February 9, 2019, at approximately 11:20 A.M., a jogger was running northbound on the east sidewalk of Bath Street.

As the jogger was crossing Yanonali street, she was struck by a white Dodge Dakota pick-up truck that was traveling westbound on Yanonali Street.

Prior to the collision, the Dodge pick-up slowed for the stop sign at Bath Street, but failed to come to a complete stop and struck the jogger who was legally crossing the street in an unmarked crosswalk.

The jogger received moderate injuries as a result from being struck by the vehicle. The Dodge pick-up fled from the scene in violation of the California Vehicle Code.

The attached photographs of the suspect vehicle were obtained from a residential surveillance camera in the area of the collision.

Please contact Santa Barbara Police Traffic Investigator Carl Kamin at 805-897-3719 if you have any information on the suspect vehicle or driver.
