Movies Way Back When: Bigger and Better Things

More December news from the past. It was fairly common for silent movie actors and crew members to jump around from one studio to another.

A number of the actors and crew at the “Flying A” studio moved on to take advantage of other opportunities. Here’s one who left in December 1914.

After working in Santa Barbara for a couple of years, cameraman Victor Fleming moved to a studio in the Hollywood area in December 1914. (In 1939, Fleming gained fame as the director of “The Wizard of Oz” and “Gone With the Wind.”)
