Mountain Biker with Broken Leg Helicoptered to Hospital

By edhat staff

A mountain biker with a broken leg was helicoptered from Paradise Road to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital on Sunday afternoon.

At 4:11 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters and a helicopter with a medic responded to Snyder Trail, which is connected to Paradise Road. The 40-year-old biker was approximately a 35-minute hike from the top or bottom of the trail. Due to the remote location, the helicopter used a hoist rescue to access the injured biker who suffered a broken leg.

The biker was then flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
