Local husband and wife team Sharon and Michael Perez are following their passion of helping others receive a higher standard of care, by opening BrightStar Care, a homecare and medical staffing agency. This new business will provide a range of compassionate, companion and person-centered care to people of all ages, from infants to seniors in the safety and comfort of their homes.
Prior to owning BrightStar Care, Sharon Perez spent nearly 35 years in the healthcare fields of radiology, ultrasound and hospital administration, practicing under the principles of compassion and care. Sharon’s passion for helping people physically, as well as emotionally lead her to complete her Master of Divinity. Sharon’s wealth of knowledge traces back to her many years living abroad in Costa Rica as a full-time Medical Missionary as well as raising her children while serving in a hospital at the edge of the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador, South America. Sharon received her Master in Social Work at the University of Southern California.
Michael Perez comes to BrightStar Care with more than 30 years of experience in sales management. After experiencing first-hand the physical and emotional toll family caregivers experience while providing care, the Perez’s decided to open a BrightStar Care location to use their drive and experience to help others who were struggling with providing care for loved ones. “Being able to provide local families with reassurance that their loved ones are in good hands during a time of incredible need is what’s most important to us,” said Sharon Perez, co-owner of BrightStar Care Santa Barbara. “At BrightStar Care, we put a great emphasis on considering the needs of the entire family and take a holistic approach to bringing comfort and peace of mind with compassionate and high-quality home care.”
