Highway 101 Closure in Carpinteria on Wednesday

Source: Caltrans

A full closure of northbound US Highway 101 at Casitas Pass Road in Carpinteria scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 19 has been re-scheduled to Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 10 pm until 5 am.

A closure of the No. 2 (right lane) and the northbound on-ramp to US 101 at Casitas Pass Road will begin at 8 pm. These closures are necessary to allow for a resurfacing and striping of the highway.

Motorists headed northbound on US 101 will exit at Bailard Avenue, continue to Carpinteria Avenue and re-enter the highway at Santa Monica Road.

The contractor for this $60 million project is Security Paving of Sylmar, CA.  This project is expected to be complete next Spring, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
