It is, in fact, natural to have oil on our local beaches....It's called the Santa Barbara Channel with fissures that release oil- ESPECIALLY when there is no drilling occurring.

Use it to insulate dugout canoes - would be a nice family project to make one while quarantined.

Actually it wasn't used in dugout canoes as an insulator and not not needed to seal them as they were made from solid driftwood logs. Also only used in Tomols to glue and seal between the planks.
