Good Samaritan and CHP Rescue Injured Owl

Source: California Highway Patrol
Your CHP Santa Barbara Owl Response Team was back in action again today.
We received a call of an injured owl on Refugio Road, north of Highway 101. Missy Franks, a concerned citizen, caught the injured barn owl, who we named Owlbert. Ms. Franks called your Santa Barbara CHP to the scene and Officer Clelland was able to secure Owlbert. Officer Gutierrez transported Owlbert to the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network and they related they would attempt to save his life and rehab the little guy.
*Disclaimer* We do not really have an owl response team.
Thank you @grace.and.flowers for Owlbert's name suggestion!

Oct 22, 2021 03:21 PMThere are rumors flying about a spat between the Wildlife Care Network and the Ojai Raptor Rehab center. I hope that all differences can be resolved for the best of the birds.
