Garba Gujarati Indian Dance Flash Mob

Flash mobs have become a thing during Halloween and there were quite a few with World Dance for Humanity. But in the middle of all the Halloween festivities was a very different flash mob event! A Gujarati dance from India called Garba. At the Camino Real Marketplace in the plaza near the theater!

Here are my photos. Before the dance, the group lined up for photos:

Here I got a photo of the dancing:

And here was my edited video of the full performance!

After the dance, one of the organizers and dancers Kunjal (left) posed with her child and with my friend Vandana (right). Vandana is the one who invited me.

And one final group photo. The woman in the middle with the glasses and short hairdo is Madhu, who is one of the main organizers of this group. I will be writing another article soon on a huge event that she helped organize.

  1. Summertime and sacjon Thank you for the kind words. I felt very privileged to be invited to this unannounced event.

We are fortunate to have so many different cultures in our area and fortunate for these cultures to share their festivities with the rest of us.
