Santa Barbara County firefighters were quick to extinguish a structure fire in a Buellton neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

At 4:39 p.m. Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to 330 Arden Ave with four engines and one Batallion Chief. Crews responded within minutes and found a single story family home with heavy smoke coming from the back of the house, said Captain Dave Zaniboni.

Firefighters made an aggressive attack towards the interior of the home and kept the fire confined to a bedroom and hallway. It appears the fire started in the bedroom.

There were two children and one adult inside the home at the time, but there were no injuries. Everyone was outside the home upon arrival of the firefighters.

The home is unhabitable due to the smoke and water damage so the family will be displaced. The Red Cross has been notified and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
