Fallen Tree at Stowe Grove Park

A large part of a coast live oak tree broke off [Thursday] afternoon in Stowe Grove Park, near Cathedral Oaks. It’s not clear if the rest of the tree can remain because the trunk is now unbalanced and has large cracks–an arborist will be checking it out. City workers arrived quickly to clear the wood away. No one was in the picnic area at the time, but it is reserved on both Saturday and Sunday. Good timing if it had to go!
