Fun Parma Park story: Years ago I went with my mostly white dog. There was a little used trail that branched off and, being the type who enjoys taking the less traveled path, I decided to head off that way. Within about 10 minutes, I looked down and, much to my horror, saw that my dog was seething with seed ticks. And I don't mean she was hosting a mere smattering of the parasitic little hitchhikers, either. We doubled back, got to the car and I spent I don't know how long picking off ticks. Urg. Definitely didn't want them coming home with us. There must have been at least 40-50 teeny weeny little ticks scrambling all throughout her silky white hair. Apparently my fellow hikers knew well enough that thar be bloodsuckers in them woods.
Yikes! Good thing you saw them on the white fur. I try to love all creatures, but ticks don’t make the cut.
