Driver Injured in Vehicle Crash Over Tepusquet Road

A man sustained serious injuries after his vehicle crashed over the side of Tepusquet Road early Monday.

At 1:03 a.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded half-mile south of the Tepusquet summit, near Sisquoc. 

Upon arrival, crews found a Chevy Malibu sedan had crashed 50-100 feet over the side of the roadway. Crews used an access road to get within 50 feet of the vehicle and the driver.

The male driver sustained a chest injury and was transferred to Marian Regional Medical Center by ground ambulance.

The incident is under investigation.
