An injured driver was helicoptered from a vehicle crash near Los Alamos on Tuesday.

At 11:28 a.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighters responded to the area of Highway 101 southbound just north of Alisos Canyon.

Crews discovered a single vehicle rollover collision where a pickup truck crashed approximately 100-feet off the roadway.

The driver, an adult male, required some extrication and was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by a county Air Support Helicopter with moderate-major injuries.

The person thought to be a passenger was a passerby/Good Samaritan and not part of the incident, said Captain Safechuck.

Traffic is slow in the area and the California Highway Patrol is investigating the collision.

[Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story identified the Good Samaritan as a passenger in the vehicle]
