Cyber Tip Leads to Child Porn Arrest

In early 2020, a District Attorney’s Office Investigator contacted Santa Barbara Police Department Detectives regarding a “cybertip” for child pornography images. 
 
The DA’s Investigator obtained a search warrant for the apparent suspect’s address. 
 
On May 6, 2020, Santa Barbara Police Detectives served a search warrant in the 300 Block of West Figueroa St. Police arrested Santa Barbara resident, Carlos Alfredo Martinez-Aguilar, age 34. During a subsequent police interview, the alleged suspect admitted he was responsible for the child pornography stored at his home. 
 
He was booked for into Santa Barbara County Jail for felony possession of obscene matter – PC 311.11.
