Caltrans Advising Travelers To Prepare For SoCal Highway Closures

Caltrans is urging the public to drive safely and be advised of any highway/ramp closures and/or detours during any planned trips to/from Southern California area this weekend.

Due to fire activity in the San Fernando Valley motorists should be advised of full or partial highway/ramp closures in the greater Los Angeles area which include Interstate 5, 405, State Route 14 and State Route 118.

Caltrans is suggesting the public use the following resources to stay informed about the current condition of the state highway system:

Caltrans QuickMap offers a variety of features and can be an App on smartphones. It provides ‘real time’ information statewide, including lane closure information.  You can also check traffic CHP incidents, fire information, live web cam locations and other information. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has real time traffic incident information at: http://cad.chp.ca.gov/
