Brush Fire Contained at 1/2 Acre

A vegetation fire was fully contained at 1/2 acre on Cieneguitas Road early Sunday evening.

At 5:11 p.m., Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to Cieneguitas Road, just past Trinity Baptist Church. Fire crews, assisted by the Los Padres Forest Service, found a 1/2 acre of brush burning and quickly surrounded the blaze. The fire was extinguished and contained at 5:40 p.m, reports Captain Dave Zaniboni.

There were numerous reports of a male subject leaving the area prior to firefighters arrival, said Zaniboni. Roger the Scanner Guy reports the subject is described as a white adult male, 6’2″ tall, medium build, short brown hair, wearing a brown shirt with grey shorts to his knees. He also had a dog with him. The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department is assisting in the search to locate the subject.

Firefighters were on scene mopping up the fire for a few hours after it was fully contained. The cause of the fire is unkown.
