The Coroner’s Bureau is releasing the ID of the decedent found on the on the 101 freeway near Milpas on October 4, 2023.
Decedent is 42-year-old Jill Marie Drennen from Santa Barbara.
Cause and manner of death is pending but does not appear suspicious.
Body Discovered Off Milpas Onramp

On October 4, 2023, at approximately 6:14 p.m., the California Highway Patrol (CHP) received a call of a deceased subject located on the U.S. 101 N/B on-ramp from Milpas Street.
CHP Santa Barbara Area personnel responded to and secured the scene. An unidentified female was located and confirmed to be deceased by Santa Barbara City Fire Department personnel.
Positive identification of the deceased has not yet been determined.
The circumstances surrounding this death are still under investigation.
