On December 14th at about 5:41 PM, SMPD Officers were sent to the 300 Block of South Blosser Road regarding a business that had just been robbed at gunpoint. Responding officers learned the masked male suspect entered the business, produced a handgun, and demanded money from the register while holding the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect obtained an undisclosed, large amount, of cash and fled the business Eastbound on foot. 

The suspect is described as a White or light skinned Hispanic male, in his early twenties, approximately 5'5" tall with a medium build. See attached surveillance still photograph of the suspect.

The investigation is continuing. If anyone recognizes this male, please call the SMPD at 805-928-3781 extension 2277, or by leaving an anonymous tip on the SMPD tip line, 805-928-3781 extension COPS (2677).

Flicka exactly right. If potential victims arm themselves, that will change the calculus for the bad guys, maybe make them think twice. If not? Too bad for them. Even in CA you still have the right to protect yourself in your home or business...so far.

Yes I was thinking the same thing! he looks like the same guy that robbed the liquor store in Summerland and then the one in Carpinteria on the 14th

Oh sure, anyone could recognize this dude (NOT). What if the clerk pulled out a gun and shot the thief? Self defense or homicide? Remember when the owner of Bryant Jewlery shot the robbers? Perfect!
