Firefighters contained a 1/4 acre brush fire along Highway 101 near El Capitan State Beach late Thursday morning.
At 11:30 a.m., Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a report of a vegetation fire on Highway 101 northbound, just north of El Capitan State Beach. Upon arrival crews found a fire burning along the roadway in light brush and grass, reports Captain Dave Zaniboni.
It took approximately 15 minutes to contain the fire. Crews are currently on scene mopping up the estimate 1/4 acre burn area, reports Zaniboni.
No structures were threatened and there were no injuries. The cause is unknown.
