Silo118 will exhibit artwork by painters and photographers working with the human form – in many forms!
Art by: Michael Armour, JoAnn Belson, Patricia Houghton Clarke, Steven DePinto, Max Gleason,
Skye Gwilliam, Jay Peterzell and Patricia Post
This exhibit will run from September 15 to November 8. Opening reception on September 15, 5-8 p.m.
Belson has a unique niche in the art world – her art has appeared in all of writer/director Nancy Meyers’ films, including Father of the Bride (1 and 2), What Women Want, It’s Complicated, The Intern and, due to be released in early September, Home Again.
Post is well known to collectors in Santa Barbara and environs. A highly prolific artist, she works primarily in oil and printmaking. A visit to her studio will awe and amaze; her body of work is immense.
Clarke’s work is a lifelong exploration of the blending of gender, race, politics and geography. “…Clarke…relies on a poetic visual sensibility, in terms of composition, the Hockney-esque stitchery of her composite images, and the unique quality produced by the Holga [camera]…” Josef Woodard, Santa Barbara News-Press
Can’t make it to the reception? Regular gallery hours are Thursday – Sunday 12-5. Also open by appointment – please contact curator Bonnie Rubenstein at bonnie@silo118.com or 301-379-4669.
