Just vote yes on it then ‘Gorf. There’s 1 vote for it. Anyone else? Hmm. I don’t believe you at all.
Op-Ed: A Close Examination of Measure P — and Why It’s Not the Right Remedy for What Ails SBCC
This is the Republican we voted out of office and who knee-jerk signed an argument against Prop A just because his fellow Republican partisans opposed it and then took it all back (https://www.noozhawk.com/dale-francisco-my-mea-culpa-on-santa-barbaras-measure-a/), now writing a dishonest piece of propaganda about Prop P that he is pushing here, at the Independent, and on Jerry Roberts' site. > Given our gentle climate, SBCC better could be the pioneer in a completely outdoors PE program. Seriously? See https://www.independent.com/2024/09/30/an-enthusiastic-yes-for-measure-p/ https://www.sbcc.edu/measure-p/ https://sbcc.edu/measure-p/files/FAQ_TCX_SantaBarbaraCCD1_4c.pdf

Oh no Mr. Mensa genius didn’t understand his/her point, gets hung up on a typo/mistake or two, and rather than discuss or even STATE his/her opinion on the nice topic at hand decides to just attempt to rail on someone. I see. Is that a run-on sentence. Yes, it is.

SB 1174 was signed by the Governor last month and has been in the works since last April. No matter what you think about it, the new law isn't effective until Jan 1, 2025 so does not impact the upcoming general election. Compare that with what Trump's three partisan "pitbulls" on the Georgia State Elections Board are doing right now in hopes of purposely injecting chaos into their state's election only 4 weeks from now: https://www.newsweek.com/republican-appointed-judge-questions-georgias-new-vague-ballot-rule-1962323 That chaos would of course only add fuel for the fire that election deniers want to light: https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/election-deniers-playbook-2024

> You can now shoplift $900 and get a misdemeanor – in the old days this would rack up a felony. But they're still crimes: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/prop-47-theft-california/ > In any case zero is an acceptable crime rate. Duh. But so are higher numbers, since zero is unobtainable ... we can get closer, though, by not electing Donald Trump, who is set on preventing his own prosecution as well as pardoning numerous criminals (in his last term he did that for moolah). Also acceptable would be a zero lying, racism, misogyny, bigotry, and sociopathy rate, but you folks make that difficult.
