Lompoc Woman Charged with Murder

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that a felony complaint woman been filed against Melissa Leigh Martin, 35, of Lompoc, California. Ms. Martin is charged with murder, in violation of Penal Code section 187, in connection with the June 5, 2019 death of Eldri Terese Jauch. In addition, it is also alleged that the defendant personally used a deadly weapon, a baseball bat, pursuant to Penal Code section 12022(b)(1).
Ms. Martin appeared for arraignment in the Lompoc Superior Court this afternoon, June 12, 2019, in front of the Honorable Judge Monica Marlow. Arraignment was continued at the request of Ms. Martin’s attorney until 7/2/19. Current bail is set at $2,020,000.
