Bicyclist Sustains Major Injuries in Collision with Vehicle

A bicyclist sustained major injuries following a collision with a vehicle in Los Olivos Monday afternoon.
At 2:25 p.m., Santa Barbara County Firefighter paramedics responded to the area of Ballard Canyon and Bison Roads in the Santa Ynez Valley for a reported traffic collision.
They discovered a bicyclist had been struck by a vehicle and was suffering from major injuires.
County Air Support Helicopter 4 responded to the scene and transported the cyclist to Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The cyclist was wearing a helmet, Fire Captain Scott Safechuck reported.
The incident is under investigation and the current status of the cyclist is unknown at this time.

A Sheriff helicopter is flying low above downtown right now (Monday, 3:15pm).
Anyone know why?

Feb 06, 2023 03:36 PMThere was a traffic collision near Los Olivios at 2:25 p.m. with a Calstar helicopter response. A patient might have been transported to Cottage from that collision.

Shows it landed at SB Cottage hospital and is still there now.
