Hazardous condition investigation at Hendry's Beach, 2981 Cliff Drive. A natural dam gave way causing a swift water hazard.
Engine 76 on scene looking for reporting party.
Never heard this kind of call before so I posted it.
Engine 76 reporting "No problem" reporting party left scene.
Ha, probably a tourist freaked. It's just the sand berm at Mission Creek and the high tide blew the berm out causing the creek to flow "swiftly" for a few minutes. That's why by the time E 76 got there it was "no problem".
Arroyo Burro Creek?
Hi Channelfog ,yes Arroyo Burro ...brain fade!
I've been watching all 4 of the others from Mission Creek, Goleta Slough, Devereaux and Santa Ynez River, pretty typical this time of year as we all know.
Watch out! Creeks breaching the ocean naturally!
Or semi-naturally; We used to love busting open the sand and watching the water roar to the sea. It was such seriously "Hazardous" fun!
The hazard is the ecoli in the stored up water contaminating the surf zone. Wash off after you go through there.
Hazards of surfing the Pit are many!
