PSHH Celebrates Virtually 50 Years of Building So Much More than Housing

This Thursday (August 6th) marks Peoples’ Self-Help Housing (PSHH) 50th Anniversary.

Although a substantially different from the plans originally made to mark this half century of achievement, COVID-19 will not be stopping the entire company of 200+ employees from gathering (virtually) to celebrate its 50th Anniversary.

A day filled with presentations, group activities and an anniversary message from John Fowler CEO & President and will see the organization sharing stories, watching “The People of Peoples’” videos and opening their gifts, which have been sent to every employee ahead of time.

The gifts include the specially published commemorative book “50 Years. 50 Stories”, new company shirts with the 50th logo, gift cards to local eateries, and a musical cupcake to accompany the group sing a long at the end of the day to mark this significant occasion.

“Although it certainly is not the day we had planned, eating barbeque in the sunshine and playing Giant Jenga”, says CEO & President John Fowler, our teams have really pulled together to create an online event worthy of 50 years of achievement”.

The presentations, all by PSHH staff, include a cooking demonstration, a history of self-help housing, live tours of soon to be opening housing for seniors and farmworkers, an unveiling of a new education program, and a trivia competition.
