The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the Evacuation Warning for the area affected by the Drum Fire.

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department credited cooler overnight temperatures and a marine layer for an increase in containment.

The acreage remains 600 acres, however, GPS mapping later today coupled with large swaths of unburned vineyards inside perimeter, may reduce acres burned.

  1. Just passed this on the 246. Seems like less smoke now but it might be due to the winds shifting. Lots of action on 246 but it’s moving away to the northeast so they shouldn’t have to close the road. When we headed over there, it was close enough and smoky enough that we thought they would close it. Pretty close to a couple of big cannabis grows. Dierberg winery is close but looks like they will be ok. Pence might be threatened.

  2. Hope the brush fires are not too frequent. Maybe now Andy Caldwell will take down his signs that are all over the ag. properties around here. Andy, the primary was 3 months ago. Courtesy suggestion from the campaigns is you take your signs down within 72 hours of the election. You can put them up 60 days or so before the Nov. election. Give it a rest, Andy. You are not ‘special’. Be respectful of your neighbors, like the other candidates.
