Terrence Edward Roberson was found guilty of attempted murder from a 2019 shooting in downtown Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced Thursday that Roberson, 37 of Santa Barbara, was found guilty after a Court Trial of attempted murder with premeditation and deliberation, a special allegation for personally discharging a firearm causing great bodily injury, and carrying a concealed firearm.
The charges stemmed from a shooting that occurred on May 15, 2019, in the 500 block of Chapala Street. At approximately 5:00 a.m., Roberson walked by the victim on the sidewalk who was unknown to Roberson at that time.
After a brief interaction, Roberson is alleged to have pulled out a .22 caliber revolver and shot the victim twice in the back. The victim sought help in a nearby lobby when Roberson fled the scene.

Roberson was detained shortly thereafter, walking away from the incident on Cota Street. The victim survived.
Roberson will be sentenced in Department 1 of the Santa Barbara Superior Court on May 31, 2022 and faces a possible 32 years to life in State Prison.
