PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR CANNABIS LAND USE ORDINANCE AND LICENSING PROGRAM

Source: County of Santa Barbara

The County Planning and Development Department is conducting two meetings for the public to comment on the scope and content of issues to be addressed in the Cannabis Land Use Ordinance and Licensing Program Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

A broad, preliminary draft document has been created as a starting place to garner input. The draft is not a final recommended ordinance nor has it been presented to the County’s planning commissions or Board of Supervisors. No decisions have been made regarding if and what licenses may be allowed or in what zones. Tables included in the document that are similar in appearance to zoning ordinance tables are presented for illustrative purposes only.

All public comments must be received by 5 p.m. (PST) Friday, August 11, 2017. More information can be found here.

The Board of Supervisors has directed staff to develop comprehensive cannabis regulations for activities associated with the Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MAUCRSA). As part of this effort, staff has initiated the environmental review process in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
