Summerland Resources Updated

FOR SUMMERLAND RESIDENTS:

Water distribution is now happening at the Post Office. We have been told that water will be left there overnight as well, and that they will be distributing from 8 am to 8 pm tomorrow. The Water District is providing the water and the County is coordinating distribution.

It is possible to get to Carp via 101 southbound from Padaro. Northbound return may be a bit trickier; as of this email, people are being escorted via convoys. At some point Via Real will be opened, but we don’t have an ETA on that yet. The 192/Foothill Rd. is also open in both directions.

Amtrak is now running, with $8 fares from Carp to SB. To book travel and receive service updates, visit www.pacificsurfliner.com and the @PacSurfliners on Twitter. You can also call 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245). It’s probably best to book as there will be significantly increased usage until the freeway reopens in both directions.

Cox has not yet given an ETA on return of cable service.

The beaches have just been closed by order of the County, due to contamination from flood waters.
