New Public Works Director for Goleta

The City of Goleta is pleased to announce it has hired Charles Ebeling as the new Public Works Director/City Engineer.

Ebeling is currently the Public Works Director/City Engineer for the City of Carpinteria where he has served for the last 10 years overseeing projects like the Linden and Casitas Pass/US 101 Interchanges, Carpinteria Avenue Bridge Replacement and the City Hall Rehabilitation and Remodel.

In the City of Goleta, he will oversee a department of 21 staff in five divisions: Engineering Division, Capital Improvement Program, Parks and Open Spaces, Street Maintenance, Storm Water Management and Solid Waste and Environmental Services.  The City’s Capital Improvement Program alone has 55 active projects valued at $137 million.

City Manager Michelle Greene said, “I am thrilled that the City has been able to attract someone with Charlie’s experience for this important position. The unique qualities and strengths he brings along with his local knowledge will round out our team nicely.”

Ebeling will begin on April 30.
