RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM SATURDAY TO 10 AM PDT MONDAY FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND  SOUTH COAST OF SANTA BARBARA COUNTY…

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a Red Flag Warning FOR WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, which is in effect from 3 PM Saturday to 10 AM PDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Winds…North 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph, strongest in the foothills.

* Relative Humidity…Minimums mainly from 20 to 30 percent late Saturday, then 15 to 25 percent Sunday into early Monday morning. 

* Impacts…If fire ignition occurs, conditions are favorable for extreme fire behavior which would threaten life and property. Use extreme caution with potential ignition sources.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now….or will shortly. A combination of strong winds…low relative humidity…and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
