Jan 15, 2022 05:04 PMUpdate; CHP identified the suspect in the felony hit-and-run but did not locate him, providing info to SBPD for follow-up. CHP reopened the call at around 11:00 am Saturday after the suspect's phone pinged in Goleta. Sheriffs were advised. A resident reported someone yelling 'I can't walk' in that vicinity (near 895 Cambridge in an open-space). Unknown the rest of the story...I would expect they apprehended the suspect, but do not know.
