For their Fall 2017 Concert, the UCSB Chamber Choir, under the direction of Grey Brothers, and the UCSB Women’s Chorus, under the direction of Tyler Reece, will perform “Choral Reflections,” a concert of meditative sacred music from various traditions by composers of diverse backgrounds. The Chamber Choir will perform favorites including Ola Gjeilo’s Ubi caritas, Morten Lauridsen’s O magnum mysterium, and Ernest Bloch’s Silent Devotion and Response from Sacred Service, as well as more adventurous repertoire by Arvo Pärt and Gabriel Jackson. Knut Nystedt’s Ave Maria, a virtuosic piece for solo violin and a cappella chorus, will anchor the performance. Friday, November 17, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church (1500 State St.).
