Santa Barbara County Craft Beer Week

Culminating with the Buckles ‘n’ Brews Invitational Beer Festival 

Once an afterthought to local wineries, Santa Barbara County’s craft breweries have stepped out of the shadows and made a name for themselves with their creative, hand-crafted brews. With numerous nationally and internationally awarded beers, some of the best breweries in the world are located right here in Santa Barbara County.

We want to share our amazing craft breweries with the entire state, and invite locals, tourists, and craft beer lovers, to join us for a week of craft beer, fun, live music, special releases, and more around Santa Barbara County! 

Over 15 craft breweries, at over 20 locations, will be participating in Santa Barbara County Craft Beer Week in 2017!

Stretching from the beaches of Carpinteria, to the Santa Ynez mountains, and the rich agricultural lands in Lompoc and Santa Maria, craft breweries are becoming tourist destinations and viable community economic engines. In 2015 alone, craft breweries contributed $7.288 billion to the state’s economy, up from $6.5 in 2014, according to the California Craft Brewers Association. 

Breweries participating in the Santa Barbara County Craft Beer Week will be Firestone Walker Brewing Co. (Buellton); Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. (Buellton, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, Los Olivos); Solvang Brewing Co. (Solvang, Lompoc); Island Brewing Co. (Carpinteria), Rincon Brewery (Carpinteria, Isla Vista), brewLAB (Carpinteria); Captain Fatty’s Brewery (Goleta); M Special Brewing Co. (Goleta); Draughtsmen Aleworks (Goleta); Third Window Brewing Co. (Santa Barbara); Telegraph Brewing Co. (Santa Barbara); Pure Order (Santa Barbara); Santa Barbara Brewing Co. (Santa Barbara); The Brewhouse (Santa Barbara); Brass Bear (Santa Barbara); Topa Topa Brewing Co. (Santa Barbara); Night Lizard Brewing Co. (Santa Barbara); Hollister Brewing Co. (Goleta), and The Apiary (Carpinteria). 

Each community brewery will be hosting special events throughout the week that include pint nights, food pairings, special releases, live entertainment and more.

Jump on the Brew Bus will be hosting a Brewery Bus Tour every day available from various pickup spots—Island Brewing Co. in Carpinteria, Figueroa Mountin Brewing Co. in Santa Barbara and M Special in Goleta—to other communities and breweries throughout the week. Cost for the Brewery Tour is $10 and includes round-trip bus ride. Every day the Brewery Tour will be visiting a different city, and stopping by each brewery in that community. 

Jump on the Brew Bus Schedule: 

On Monday, October 23rd, presented by Visit Santa Barbara, Jump on the Brew Bus will be travelling to Santa Barbara to visit Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., Topa Topa Brewing Co., The Brewhouse and Brass Bear. Guests can be picked up in Carpinteria (Island Brewing Co.), Santa Barbara (Figueroa Mountain Brewing) and Goleta (M Special Brewing Co.). 

On Tuesday, October 24th, presented by the Goleta Chamber of Commerce, Jump on the Brew Bus will be heading to Goleta to visit Captain Fatty’s Brewery, Draughtsmen Aleworks, Hollister Brewing Co. and M Special Brewing Co. Guests can be picked up in Carpinteria (Island Brewing Co.), Santa Barbara (Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co.) and Goleta (M Special Brewing Co.).  

On Wednesday, October 25th, presented by Visit Buellton and the Buellton Brew Fest, Jump on the Brew Bus will be heading to the Santa Ynez Valley to visit Solvang Brewing Co., Valley Brewers (Solvang), Firestone-Walker Brewery (Buellton) and Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. in Buellton. Guests can be picked up in Carpinteria (Island Brewing Co.), Santa Barbara (Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co.), Goleta (M Special Brewing Co.) and Solvang (Solvang Brewing Co.).

On Thursday, October 26th, presented by Surf ‘n’ Suds Beer Festival, Jump on the Brew Bus will be heading to Carpinteria to visit Island Brewing Co., Rincon Brewery, brewLab and The Apiary. Guests can be picked up in Santa Barbara (Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co.) and Goleta (M Special Brewing Co.).

On Friday, October 27th, presented by Santa Barbara Ale Trail and the Loyale App, Jump on the Brew Bus will head back to Santa Barbara to check out Telegraph Brewing Co., Third Window Brewing Co., Pure Order, Santa Barbara Brewing Co. and Night Lizard Brewing Co. Guests can picked up in Carpinteria (Island Brewing Co.), Santa Barbara (Figueroa Mountain Brewing) Goleta (M Special Brewing Co.).

Santa Barbara County Craft Beer Week will culminate with the second annual Buckles ‘n’ Brews Invitational Beer Festival on Saturday, October 28th at the Santa Barbara Carriage Museum. Benefiting the Kiwanis Club of Santa Barbara, the Buckles ‘n’ Brews Invitational will have 25 select breweries pouring their best beers from 12 – 5 p.m. Only 700 tickets will be made available for this exclusive Invitational Beer Festival. It includes live music by the Dusty Jugz, great craft beer, fresh barbecue, lawn games, and of course a Halloween costume contest. 

Tickets for the Buckles ‘n’ Brews Invitational are available at www.bucklesandbrews.com, and are $45 for General Admission and $55 for VIP. VIP guests will get to enter an hour early, and get to sample beer not available during the General Admission Session.
