Medora’s Book Club: The Casa Collection

Medora’s Book Club is excited to announce that we will be hosting two special guests who have contributed to the legacy of the Casa. We are pleased to welcome Robert Sweeney, the author of “Casa Del Herrero: The Romance of Spanish Colonial,” as well as ‘Steedman Silver.’

His book, “Casa Del Herrero: The Romance of Spanish Colonial,” tells the Casa story and its origins. The book explores the architectural features of the Casa and delves into the history of the Spanish Colonial Revival style.

Photographer Matt Walla, who contributed the photos for both books, will also be speaking and providing his perspective on Santa Barbara architecture and how his work focuses on capturing the “essence of a place and a moment in time.”

We are honored to have these two distinguished guests join us for this event, and we hope you will join us as well. This promises to be an evening filled with fascinating insights, beautiful photographs, and lively discussion.

During the event, Robert Sweeney and Matt Walla will discuss their work and experience capturing the history of Santa Barbara architecture. They will also take questions from the audience and sign copies of their books, which will be available for purchase at the end of the program.
