Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Jonathan Isaiah Limon, age 18, will face life in state prison as a result of being found guilty of Attempted First Degree Murder, Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Assault with a Semi-Automatic Firearm.  The case involved three separate incidents that were initially filed in the Juvenile Court.   He was subsequently ordered to stand trial as an adult by the Juvenile Court Judge.

On December 14, 2016, in Santa Maria, California, Mr. Limon stabbed a rival gang member nine (9) times.  For this crime, the jury found Mr. Limon guilty of Assault with a Deadly Weapon and also found true the special allegations that the victim suffered great bodily injury, and that Mr. Limon committed the crime for the benefit of a criminal street gang.

On May 5, 2017, in Santa Maria, California, Mr. Limon chased down a 12 year old boy and robbed him of his hat and cell phone.  The jury convicted Mr. Limon of Robbery and found true the special allegation that Mr. Limon committed the robbery for the benefit of a criminal street gang.

On September 27, 2017, in Santa Maria, California, Mr. Limon shot a third victim multiple times with a semi-automatic firearm.  The jury convicted Mr. Limon of Attempted First Degree Murder, finding that the shooting involved deliberation and premeditation. The jury also found true the special allegations that the defendant personally shot the victim; that the victim suffered great bodily injury; and that Mr. Limon committed this attempted murder for the benefit of a criminal street gang.

Mr. Limon will be sentenced on July 25, 2019, in Department 6 of the Santa Maria Superior Court, in front of Judge John McGregor.

Santa Maria Teen Found Guilty of Attempted Murder

If ever there were any reasons to support bringing back firing squads, this guy's actions would be on the list. He will be a violent, expensive burden to society until he dies.

Santa Maria Teen Found Guilty of Attempted Murder

Why was he even out of jail on attempted murder charges in the first place? Then he attacks a 12 year old child and is still out to get a 2nd attempted murder charge? All with gang related charges? Did I miss something? Bail had to be a fortune but when he attacked a child he should've been locked up then and there. Instead he is out shooting another person? I am so confused.
