Taking advantage of the sunny, relatively balmy December day, two groups - Western Bluebirds and Cedar Waxwings - enjoyed bathing and drinking in our watering trays and bird baths.  We counted a total of eleven birds between the two species.

Starlings used to come to mine and fling water like water was free. The sparrows used to sit on the edge and take showers instead of baths. Haven't seen them in a couple of years, though.

Now I know who has stolen my waxwings! I demand them back!

That's an awesome photo! I have never gotten bluebirds to my feeders or fountain even though I put out mealworms and see them in the fields nearby.

Shooting through a dirty, double-paned garden window approx. 30' away.

That put a big smile on my face. Well done.

***I absolutely love your photo.*** Bluebirds and waxwings together? I never thought I'd see that. What part of town are you in? The Cedar waxwings used to come in a large flock to eat the blossoms of my Pineapple guava tree. Don't know what changed, but I haven't seen waxwings for a long while now.

Haven't been there this year, but a large flock of waxwings typically appears in December around Stow House/Lake Los Carneros where red berries are plentiful. They "hoover" the trees clean!

I love having birds in our yard! We leave food and water out for them. Great picture!
