2021 Deltopia Weekend Recap

so, because the limited parking and closing the beach is WORKING, some want to discontinue the practice????? Maybe you weren't around to witness the spring break drunken crowds & garbage on the beach that ensued. General spring break observation: student behavior is getting a lot worse, certainly not better. Keep practices in place and let the partiers go elsewhere.

Deltopia was a one off... it came together in social media quick and surprised everyone. It hasn’t been a thing since... and spring break is dead in IV. Don’t conflate the spring break videos in Florida with IV... just a Giant Waste of time and resources.

SMARY - are parking and beach closures really "working?" No way to tell. Seems more likely that students are just losing interest in this old tradition, as each year there are less and less out there partying. Just because the beach is closed and parking difficult, doesn't stop house parties. This year, as years past, there were much less than the year before. Pretty clear it's just losing steam. Many students are really responsible and act like adults, you'd be surprised.

Let all the police go on work furlow what are they doing (its not their fault but it’s our leaders )they book and release criminals to Reoffend -why bother.Doesn’t make sense letting all these felons go without taking them to jail - is that better than putting them in jail ?and let them get corona virus jeopardizing our safety there’s never been any incidents in our IV with mass casualties duh!-
Who’s running this clown show

I'm glad that they are doing this. We don't need IV to become the annual spring break destination with all it's problems. Look at Miami Beach...

2021 Deltopia Weekend Recap

We closed the beaches and restricted parking for local residents for all this? When are they going to get over this whole Deltopia joke? These numbers are probably less than a normal weekend in IV! For pete's sake, let the kids party and deal with it if needed. These preemptive shut downs and restrictions are useless! What's next? We close down State at dark because people will probably be out drinking? Cops need to do their jobs and react to real situations, not make up possible ones and shut everyone down in case they happen.

2021 Deltopia Weekend Recap

In 2014 there were 130 arrests. In 2018 there were 25 [1]. Now, in 2021, there were 5. I think we should stop wasting tax dollars on this huge annual policing effort, Deltopia just isn't as problematic as it was in the past. For example, we can we stop doing the temporary parking restrictions next year.

Torres posted bail and was then released. But are the charges against him reflected in the chart? I don't see them.
