Feb 26, 2021 02:55 PMI’m glad this fire didn’t know injure anyone or cause any property damage. However, since the powers that be won’t allow any maintenance of public spaces, these types of fires are the only means that we have to mitigate the hazardous and volatile overgrowth of vegetative fuels near our neighborhoods and businesses. If they can keep burning out the overgrown brush a little at a time without causing any harm, they will make us all safer.

Feb 27, 2021 02:52 AMUnincorporated Eastern Goleta Valley is Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara zip code, Santa Barbara address. Long time locals don’t call it Noleta.

Feb 27, 2021 10:01 AMActually it is simple. It's not IN Santa Barbara. A ZIP code is not a legal entity, it's merely a "Zone Improvement Plan" for an easy way to route mail. Same as people that know realize that 93108 is not all of Montecito. Turnpike therefore provides service for the County for fire and sheriffs. It's not in the Santa Barbara City limits or any SB City services.
