Someone took cow tipping to a nasty degree sometime recently. The iconic cow atop Bossie’s Kitchen on Milpas has been vandalized and knocked completely off her pedestal. Such a shame.
Now they have gone too far with this statue toppling!
The extensive damage probably makes it felony vandalism? Maybe they can electrify the cow for the next vandal.
What a bunch of punks! No respect for the history of that cow!
That cow was more than tipped. It was ripped off it's bolted down base, legs snapped off.
What the heck is wrong with people?!? Geez.
Even if she took the vandals to court, I doubt she’d have a leg to stand on.
Google Petan Dairy Santa Barbara and you can read a little history about the building and the cow. The 'ol cow has been through some antics over the years but this destruction goes beyond fun and games.
I hate 2020 and most people now.
Yes, people seem to have gotten so much meaner to each other just in the last few years.
Not the first time the 'ol cow made headlines & probably won't be the last.
Some history of Old Bossie the Cow.....https://mcconnells.com/blogs/blog/the-curious-history-of-bossie-the-cow
Facebook has some pre-tipping photos showing the beloved cow with a pretty extreme lean in that direction. It sucks regardless, but less so if it wasn't vandalism. Hopefully that was the case.
Prolly some San Marcos alums still all upset that the mighty Dons used Bossie the Cow to diss all over the Royals' using their football team for cow-pie bingo.
...What? You must be a Charger with all that farm talk ;)
Holy Cow! Is nothing sacred?
Kew - love that subtle humour. That was awesome.
Was it a racist cow? Or maybe a confederate cow?
Yea, not funny.
No it was probably “peaceful protesters”.

An udder shame.
I hope she will be restored to her former glory. A pox upon those who damaged her.
Yeah, and now they'll milk it for all it's worth!
A teacher thinks it was old age.....
The H.S. Alumni Association is raising money to repair her....
KEYT reporting it most likely tipped over on its own due to old age.
Maybe t'was aliens, and an anfo bomb
Maybe it was aliens with an anfo bomb!
If it is not covered by insurance I hope someone will start a restoration fund. I would for sure donate. That cow is part of our Santa Barbara history.
Was it wearing its Covid mask? If not, it might have succumbed to the virus.
I'd be interested in seeing a full photo of the "crime scene" to learn if there was metal/rebar used as a support for the cow in either of the left legs.
Based on the photo, it appears there was only one piece of metal/rebar in the right front leg, no long piece of metal/rebar showing in the right rear leg.
"FernaldPoint," how was the base "bolted down?"
Were the Vegans rioting?
