My name is Marco Marquez, I am a UCSB student currently conducting research for the Sociology honors program. My research is focused on the current perceptions that residents have of their local police officers.

I am currently looking for individuals/students over 18 years of age to participate in an interview to collect data on these perceptions. Questions in the interview would focus on perceptions you may have of the police, what you think of your local police and how you came to form these perceptions.

To participate you need to currently be living in the Goleta or Santa Barbara area for at least a year and have had some sort of individual interaction with police during the time you have lived in area.

The interview itself will take no more than an hour. These interviews can be conducted in person or by phone, your choice! Participants will be compensated for their time with a $20 gift card.
If you are interested in being interviewing and discussing some of your beliefs or understanding of your local police, please contact me at Thank you.
