Stabbing Suspect Arrested in Oxnard

On June 9, 2026, at about 10:27 hours, Oxnard Police Officers responded to the 400 block of North Bonita Avenue in Oxnard regarding an assault victim. Upon arrival, officers located the victim in front of a residence, suffering from several stab wounds. He was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center, where he underwent emergency surgery and is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) took over the investigation. Investigators gathered sufficient evidence to identify the suspect as 19-year-old Donaldo Hernandez Castano.

On June 10, 2026, VCU investigators located Hernandez Castano in the 2100 block of East Pleasant Valley Rd in Oxnard. He was arrested and booked into Ventura County Jail on attempted murder charges.

The motive for the assault remains unknown, but investigators have learned that the victim and suspect know each other. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
