On January 9th, 2026, a DUI/ Driver’s License Checkpoint was held at Avenida De Los Arboles at Kensington Avenue from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
A total of 506 drivers were contacted. Six drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with license violations. No drivers were found to be operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of either alcohol, drugs or combination of alcohol/drugs.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes and areas of high traffic accident occurrences. The primary purpose of a DUI checkpoint is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
