A swift and aggressive response from the Ventura County Fire Department prevented a garage fire from spreading to an adjacent home in Camarillo on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire was reported around 4:00 p.m. on January 21 in the 100 block of Kenneth Street. Arriving units discovered heavy smoke pouring from an exterior garage.

According to fire officials, crews immediately launched an aggressive attack on the blaze, quickly knocking it down and successfully containing it before it could damage the nearby residence. Firefighters conducted a primary search of the home to verify that all occupants had safely evacuated.
Approximately 40 firefighters responded to the incident. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
Crews were expected to remain on the scene for one to two hours to conduct salvage and overhaul operations, ensuring any remaining hot spots are extinguished and securing the property.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
