Phenix Salon Suites opens at The Collection in Oxnard, expanding Ventura County footprint

Phenix Salon Suites has opened a new location at The Collection, 571 Town Center Drive, bringing its salon-suite concept to northern Ventura County. The site, which officially opened January 26, 2026, is owned and operated by business partners Cheryl Kuchinka and Stacey Mays, the company announced.

Positioned as a hub for independent beauty and wellness professionals, the Oxnard location offers fully equipped, private suites for hairstylists, estheticians, barbers, nail technicians, and other practitioners. Each suite allows tenants to set their own schedules, pricing, and client experience in a community-oriented setting, according to the company.

“Opening this Phenix location allows us to combine our professional backgrounds with the opportunity to support local beauty entrepreneurs,” Kuchinka said in a statement. “With my experience in finance and operations and Stacey’s background in sales and marketing, we’re excited to create a space that helps professionals grow with confidence.”

Brian Kelley, president and CEO of Phenix Salon Suites, said the Oxnard site is the brand’s third location in the Oxnard/Camarillo area. “Each new opening creates opportunities for local entrepreneurs. We’re proud to support Cheryl and Stacey at their newest location in Ventura County,” he said.

A public grand opening event was held on February 9, 2026 that included community members, beauty professionals, and prospective suite renters to tour the facility and learn more about the model.

Phenix said it continues to expand across California and nationally with a franchise system designed to support semi-absentee owners. While salon experience isn’t required, the company notes that its most successful franchisees tend to have commercial real estate and general business experience and the ability to invest $250,000 or more. Phenix said it recently streamlined its buildout, cutting construction costs by up to 20%, and that financing is available through lending partners.

Founded in 2007 by beauty professional and celebrity hairstylist Gina Rivera, Phenix Salon Suites began franchising in 2012 and now has more than 425 locations across 33 states, with plans for further growth. The company says it has been recognized 13 years in a row on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 and emphasizes that it licenses private suites rather than selling salon services.
