Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle in Oxnard

On May 2, 2026, at about 1131 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded along with Emergency Medical Services to an injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian at Wooley Road and Commercial Avenue.  

Upon arrival, officers located a 51-year-old male lying along the eastbound lanes of  Wooley Road, suffering from major injuries.  The subject succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene by medical personnel.

Preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was walking across Wooley Road just west of Commercial Avenue.  The Ford Expedition was traveling westbound Wooley Road and collided with the pedestrian. The pedestrian landed on the eastbound lanes of Wooley Road.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment is not suspected and the investigation is ongoing.
