Residents of Thousand Oaks have a new cafe and bakery in town. Paris Baguette has opened its latest location in Thousand Oaks, bringing fresh coffee and Parisian pastries to the community.

Spanning 3,000 square feet, the new cafe is located at 650-658 N. Moorpark Road.

Informing about Paris Baguette’s opening in a social media post, the company said the Thousand Oaks location marks the brand’s 318th café in North America.

The café also marks its 81st location in California, Paris Baguette said in a release.

The new spot signals the beginning of a broader expansion plan across West Los Angeles and a career shift by local franchise owner Gabriel Vesci. He has spent more than 10 years operating a portfolio of high-volume McDonald’s restaurants after an earlier career as a healthcare finance executive.

Vesci decided to transition from fast-food operations to a neighborhood bakery café concept after his daughter introduced him to the brand through social media, according to the release.

He said he saw an opportunity to bring a different type of dining experience to local communities and recognized the operational strength of the business model.

“It’s a neighborhood bakery café that works well in active, family-oriented communities like Thousand Oaks,” he said.

Vesci said he has signed an agreement to develop cafés across West Los Angeles, including Culver City, Brentwood, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood.

He intends to expand the cafe’s growth in a “measured, deliberate” way while focusing on customer experience and execution.

The Thousand Oaks cafe is the brand’s latest addition to the company’s California footprint. It will remain open Monday through Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to its website.
