Oxnard Woman Arrested for Stealing Custom Copper Fountain from The Collection at RiverPark

On May 13, 2026, officers from the Neighborhood Policing Team arrested Anita Hurtado in connection with the theft of a custom copper fountain valued at approximately $35,000 from The Collection at RiverPark.

Parts of the fountain, an original work handcrafted by a local artist, were stolen during two separate incidents on February 3 and February 15, 2026. The structure was dismantled and portions were removed to facilitate transport.

During the investigation, officers learned the suspect had transported portions of the stolen fountain to a local recycling center, where the copper was later processed.

The investigation was led by the Neighborhood Policing Team, with assistance from investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit. Hurtado was taken into custody without incident. She was arrested for grand theft, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy to commit a crime.  The investigation remains ongoing.
