On April 12, 2026, at approximately 6:50 PM, officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the Oxnard Mobile Home Lodge at 1301 Commercial Ave regarding a report of multiple shots fired. Officers arrived and located an occupied vehicle and an occupied residence that had been struck by gunfire. No one was injured.

Investigators from the Oxnard Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) took over the investigation. Investigators gathered sufficient evidence to identify the suspect as 32-year-old Martin Diosdado. VCU Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Diosdado for assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied vehicle, and shooting at an occupied residence.

On May 14, 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM, members of the Oxnard Police Department Special Enforcement Unit (SEU), K9 Unit, and VCU located Diosdado in the 4100 block of Maulhardt Rd. When officers attempted to contact Diosdado, he fled on foot and was apprehended by Police Service Dog Joey. As he fled, a loaded semi-automatic firearm fell from Diosdado’s waistline.

Diosdado was treated for moderate injuries at the scene and later transported to a local hospital. He will be booked into Ventura County Jail on charges related to the April shooting, as well as multiple firearms charges.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time. If you have any information regarding this case, please contact Detective Diego Estrada at 805-385-8291 or by email at diego.estrada@oxnardpd.org.
