On April 30, 2026, at approximately 1:15 p.m., members from the Oxnard Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit observed a group of individuals illegally consuming alcohol at the Ololkoy State Beach Park located at 1601 South Harbor Boulevard.
Officers made contact with the group and found one of the subjects, Gerardo Zapien of Oxnard, to be in illegal possession of a loaded concealed firearm.
The Oxnard Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit is committed to reducing gang crimes and gun violence in the City of Oxnard through the strict enforcement of laws specifically targeting known, active gang members residing in the city.
